SWINDON Supermarine will attempt to claw back a first leg deficit tonight when they host Chippenham in the Wiltshire Premier Shield semi-final.

The Webb’s Wood outfit lost 1-0 to the Bluebirds at Hardenhuish Park just over a fortnight ago as former Marine striker Alan Griffin gave Chippenham the advantage, and both sides are expected to field experimental line-ups this evening as they play for the right to meet Swindon Town in the final.

Marine are likely to be without two regular left-backs as Matt Robinson has a dead leg and Danny Allen is struggling with a stiff back.

Forward Ashan Holgate is doubtful to be involved after his hamstring problem resurfaced in Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Chesham United.

The rest of the small Marine’s small squad should be involved with James Rae continuing in goal in the absence of Will Puddy, who is hoping to have a scan on his knee ligament injury soon.

Meanwhile, in the Hellenic League Premier Division tonight, Shrivenham make the trip to high-lflying Slimbridge.

In last night’s non-league action, Cirencester eased any fears of getting sucked into the relegation scrap with a convincing 5-0 win over crisis club Halesowen.

Jody Bevan scored a hat-trick and Mark Draycott added two more late on.

In the Hellenic League, Wootton Bassett’s scheduled home clash with Ascot United was postponed.
