SWINDON Spitfires Reserves completed their Thames Valley League programme with a 2-1 defeat at leaders MK Dons Reserves.

Spits’ second string remain in second place in the division after the result, but will have to wait on results elsewhere to reveal whether or not they end the term in the same spot with Brize Norton hot on their heels five points behind, but still with three games to play.

Elsewhere, Spifires Under 12s hosted Bardwell in the Oxford Girls League without both of their regular goalkeepers.

Serenn Sanghara took the gloves but could do nothing to prevent Bardwell taking the lead midway through the first half. However, Spits soon rallied and Katie Dellow levelled after a neat move.

In the second period, Spits stepped up their game and goals from Amy Connaghan (2) and Kat Reynolds secured a 4-1 win.

Meanwhile, Spitfires Under 14s ended their season in third place in the Wiltshire Girls League despite a 2-0 reversal at champions Trowbridge Town.

The Under 11s completed their campaign with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of second-placed Tower Hill.
