SWINDON Town Ladies Under 14s suffered their first Oxford Girls League defeat since November 2009 in their top-of-the-table clash at Oxford Bluebirds.
Knowing a victory would seal a second title in two seasons, Town struggled to come to terms with Oxford’s route one approach and found themselves 4-1 down at half time, the Robins scoring through Jess Graham.
That lead was extended to 6-1 in the second half before Graham added three more as Town threatened to stage an amazing comeback, but the Bluebirds held on to take Swindon’s crown.
A 1-1 draw with Didcot Casuals on Tuesday night secured runners-up spot, with Chloe Brown scoring Town’s goal.
