HORSESHOE Amateur Boxing Club members experienced mixed fortunes at two shows recently.

Warneford School pupil Sam Vallis faced a tough task in his first bout against Barton Hill’s Dom Owoo.

However, once the 14-year-old Vallis found his range, he took control with fast hands and good footwork to triumph.

Another Warneford pupil, Jordan Williams, lost a close decision despite improving throughout the contest.

Ashley Meeson found it tough going against J Pursell as he was outworked in the first round.

Meeson was caught with a wild swing in the second and coach Mark Brown was left with no option but to retire him.

At Droitwich, among Horseshoe’s representatives were Dorcan’s 12-year-old Luke Scott-Brown, who lost to L Jones.

Ridgeway’s Cameron Lampard lost his bout on a decision.

Horseshoe Amateur Boxing Club is holding its own show at @Futsal on November 23. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for under 14s. For more information phone Brian Roberts on 07960 009472.
