WALCOT boxer Bill Harris can consider himself unfortunate to have returned home from action in Swansea without another win to his name, writes DAVE VEYSEY.
The 12-year-old appeared to comfortably outpoint Callum Copp, from Premier Boxing Club Swansea, on the Welsh club’s winter show last Saturday.
However, after three rounds where the young Swindonian scored with countless left jabs and straight rights, it was Copp who had his arm raised by the referee – the home boxer having been awarded the decision by a split points’ margin.
Walcot coach Daniel Hughes was bitterly disappointed and said: “Bill won at least two-and-a-half rounds, and was a clear winner in my eyes.
“It is sad when these young boxers do not get the results they deserve.
“However, Bill performed well, which is the main thing.”
