RYAN Martin will headline Trifecta’s first show in March after signing a management deal with Paddy Fitzpatrick this week.

The unbeaten welterweight prospect has joined forces with the Ferndale Road-based trainer-manager following the expiration of his deal with Keith Mayo.

And Fitzpatrick, who also manages Luke Watkins, Sam Smith, Harry Webb and Jason Manners, says that he is delighted to have the former England and Walcot amateur on his books.

“It is fantastic to have Ryan on board,” said Fitzpatrick, who also worked with Martin during his amateur days.

“Ryan has been in the gym with me for the last three months and we have really clicked.

“We have the same philosophy about boxing so that makes it easier.

“He used to come down to me when he had big amateur fights coming up and spend some time on the mitts to keep sharp.”

With Martin helping form the new sports management company Trifecta, the 22-year-old, who has won all seven of his fights since turning professional in 2014, will now headline their first show on March 18 at the Oasis Leisure Centre.

However, despite saying that the fight has been signed, Fitzpatrick added that the opponent will not be revealed until next month.

“Ryan is going to be in a title fight against a man who is undefeated and has had more fights than Ryan,” the Irish trainer added.

“The show in March is going to be the biggest card that Swindon has seen.

“Ryan is going to be topping the bill, Duke (Watkins) and Sniper (Smith) will be in eight rounders and they are not going to be in easy fights.

“There are also other fighters that we are in talks with to be on the show.”
