A TRIO of junior boxers from Penhill Amateur Boxing Club recently had success against Downend Amateur Boxing Club in Bristol.

Jake Knowles was first up in a 42kg bout against Billy Hearle. While Knowles fought admirably, he was very unlucky to lose on a majority decision.

In the second fight for Penhill, Curtis Bowers was involved in a 69kg bout against James Dayer. In an accomplished performance Bowers dominated the majority of the fight.

The third round saw Dayer come back into the contest, but by this time Bowers was in front and won on an unanimous points decision.

The final fight featured James Richards in a 62kg bout against Curtis Cano. Richards controlled his bout superbly, connecting with good head and body shots in the second round.

In the last round the youngster upped the pace and dominated to the final bell, earning a unanimous points decision.
