WALCOT ABC's winning run continues after a double at the weekend means they have now won their last five contests.

Oxfordshire club Windrush ABC hosted the latest event at the Carterton Social Club, where Walcot juniors Said Eltuyev and John Luke Bolton were in action.

Western Counties Champion Eltuyev was impressive in defeating Wayne Smith from Droitwich ABC.

The 12-year-old scored with fast left hooks and straight rights to take the opening round before the middle session saw Smith counter with a hard straight right, but Said landed with a heavy left hook to halt his advance.

During the final round the Churchfields pupil performed stylishly and was always in command and he was returned a unanimous points winner.

Club mate Bolton,15, duly completed the double with success over Tommy Lee Connors from the host club.

Spurred on by his home support, Connors attacked from the opening bell, landing with straight left jabs.

But 40 seconds into the round Bolton began to slip the oncoming punches and land with hard shots of his own before then dominating the rest of the opener to edge the round.

Bolton kept up his dominance during the middle two minutes, slipping punches and cleverly countering with left jabs, straight rights and left uppercuts.

He took a substantial points advantage into the final round, where he tired but held on bravely for a majority points verdict.

Walcot Coach Harry Scott said: “Said won fairly easily and is a talented young boxer, but he still has a few areas where he can improve.”

John Luke battled bravely and secured the win against a tough kid.
