LECHLADE'S development plans have been boosted by the news that the Cotswold District Council have agreed to provide funding towards their pavilion redevelopment plans.
The club hopes to embark on the project in September 2008 and has been able to secure an extension to its lease to assist in securing grants from further organisations.
Nigel Pearce, the club's development officer, said: "I am very pleased we have the support of the District Council and appreciate the help we have had from our two local councillors, Alex Palmer and Sandra Carter, who assisted the club with its application.
"The club is also grateful for the support of landlord Roy Burton, in agreeing to this recent lease extension.
"The progress we have made to date is fantastic and we have been very fortunate to be working with Sports Solutions GB, who have helped us get this far and we hope will continue to work alongside us until the completion of all our plans.'' The club is currently seeking new members of any age.
