THERE was no action in the local cricket scene on Saturday as the wet weather washed out the opening weekend.
The forecast looked grim from the outset and the West of England Premier League informed clubs on Thursday that they were allowed to call games off two days in advance, rather than waiting until the Saturday.
That meant the likes of Swindon, Wootton Bassett, Goatacre and Marlborough were left game-less and were made to wait longer for their first WEPL action of the year.
Our local sides will hope that this comes this weekend.
