SWINDON Supermarine got their season back on track with an impressive 3-1 win at Barnstaple Town this evening.
Marine manager, Dave Webb, had been forced to wait to get his side out onto the pitch in recent weeks, after their last two fixtures fell victim to the weather.
But, despite the mammoth 260 mile trip to Devon, Webb and his troops returned to Wiltshire with all three points.
However, it didn’t all go to plan as Harry Stevens handed the home side an early lead, when he found a way past Josh Hill in the Marine goal, with just 15 minutes on the clock.
Shortly afterwards, Marine were level when Brad Hooper tucked home from the penalty spot to restore parity.
Marine made the most of their momentum by grabbing a second goal before the end of the first 45 minutes.
Good work from Joe Selman resulted in the hosts scoring an own goal to hand Marine a slender advantage going into the interval.
The second instalment was less eventful, but Marine did what they needed to as Aaron Woodley struck on the hour mark to seal an important victory.
