WILL Crisp followed up his second-placed finish at the UK Cross Challenge with victory in round one of the Oxford Mail Cross Country League at Ascott-under-Wychwood.

The Swindon Harrier was the first under 15 finisher in the combined under 15s and under 17s boys’ race, finishing eighth overall in 18:28.

Ciaran Cooper was third overall in 17:35 while Charlie Bailey was 21st overall in 20:24 as Harriers finished second overall.

Harriers’ senior men finished eighth in Division One with the quickest club runner home being Simon Byrne in 33 minutes 36 seconds, enough for 16th overall.

At the first round of the Gloucestershire Cross Country League at Pittville Park in Cheltenham, Heath Bampton triumphed in the male over 45 category.

He was 17th overall in 34:30 while Callum Bampton crossed the line second in the joint under 15 and under 17 men's race, clocking 18:30.

Ben McIntyre was eighth in the under 13 boys (10:07) while Elliot Doughty was ninth in 10:16.

Lillie Bellamy was the fourth under 20 home in the senior women’s race and 12th overall (26:38).

At the Swindon Parkrun at Lydiard Park, Gary O’Brien took spot in 16:51, while Pete Molloy clocked 18:46 in winning the male over 60 category and finishing fourth overall.

Barrie Brown won the male over 35 category and was sixth overall (19:30), and Sam Davies was first in the junior men and seventh overall in 19:44.
