DENNIS Smith and Mark Cox both earned vital prize money in the penultimate UK Openb qualifier in Wigan today.
Both players reached round three before Smith went down to Simon Whitlock and Cox fell to Robert Thornton.
The £250 both players earned moves Smith on to £500 and Cox £750 as they look to reach the finals in two weeks time, with both likely to make the cut.
Johnny Haines, Chris Aubrey, Jack Tweddell and John Newland all failed to earn money but they, along with Smith and Cox, have one more chance tomorrow.
