JACOB Law was adjudged to have been the best at the British Championships as he walked away with gold.

Phoenix Taekwondo’s Law, from Eldene, won gold at the PUMA British Open Championships, which was held at the Oasis Leisure Centre on Sunday, February 22.

The title was the second for the 11-year-old, having only trained in the martial art for just over six months.

In what was an extremely hotly contested category, Law came out on top, just edging out his own teammates Travis Waite and Cody O’Bey, who took silver and bronze respectively.

The club, who run classes in Dorcan and Stratton, entered a 12 strong team into the tournament, and came away with 12 trophies.

Other medallists for Phoenix Taekwondo included Liam Elliott (silver and bronze), Travis Wait (silver and bronze), Conor Law (two bronze), Paul Golder (two bronze), Andy Harris (bronze) and Frank Wall (bronze).
