LOUISE Hunt's bid for a women's singles medal at the Paralympic Games in Rio ended at the first hurdle today.
Wanborough's Hunt suffered a straight sets defeat to the USA's Dana Mathewson in the opening round of the competition this afternoon.
Hunt, ranked 12th in the world, lost the first set 6-1 against the 18th-ranked Mathewson and, despite improving in the second set, she came out second best 6-4 to see her medal hopes ended early.
