DOUBLE Olympic silver medallist Jazz Carlin finished just outside the top 10 as she made her open water swimming debut in China yesterday.
Swindon's Carlin, who now lives in Bradford on Avon, clocked 1:38:36.10 for 11th place in the FINA 10km Marathon Swimming World Cup event at Qiandao Lake, in Hangzhou City.
The Wiltshire woman, who clinched silver in both the women's 400m and 800m freestyle events indoors at last year's Olympic Games in Rio, was just over a minute behind the winner, Ana Marcela Cunha, of Brazil.
It was a promising outdoor debut for the 27 year old University of Bath-based swimmer, who has also hinted she may enter the new 1500m race at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
