JOHNNY Haines has been handed a tough draw against Mark Webster in the second round of the UK Open, which takes place at the Reebok, Bolton in June.

Webster, a former Premier League player who is nicknamed ‘Spider’, was BDO world champion in 2008 and reached the semis of the PDC equivalent last year.

Haines only gained his tour card for the first time this year and will be a huge underdog in the contest.

His fellow Swindonian Dennis Smith, in excellent form so far in 2012, has also qualified for the tournament but will not play in the early rounds as he qualified 19th on the UK Open Order of Merit, with the top 32 earning themselves that luxury.

The £250,000 tournament, nicknamed 'The FA Cup of Darts' due to the open draw format which can see leading players drawn together at any stage, will feature a mixture of top professionals alongside 64 amateur qualifiers from June 7-10.

The opening night sees the early rounds played, featuring the Speedy qualifiers and Rileys qualifiers playing alongside the professionals ranked from 33-114 in the UK Open Order of Merit following eight qualifying events.
