DAVID Howell has had a disappointing end to the Africa Open as a triple bogey sees him slip down the leader board.
Howell carded a one over par final round in the tournament held in East London to end a run of seven under par rounds in South Africa.
The Broome Manor pro, who started the day in the top ten on a score of eight under par, made a good start to his last round with birdies on both the fourth and sixth holes.
However his form took a turn for the worse as he carded a bogey on the par four ninth followed by a triple bogey on the par four 11th.
Howell dropped another shot at the very next hole to leave him on three over par for the round.
A birdie on the 14th was followed by another bogey on the 15th but two birdies on the final two holes pulled his score back to a more respectable total but sees him currently tied for 34th place.
Trevor Fisher Jnr is the current on-course leader with a score of 21 under par with four holes still to play.
