A NEW golf tournament in aid of disadvantaged children is to be staged at Wrag Barn Golf and Country Club on April 28.

The Urban 18 Charity Golf Tournament is an 18-hole shotgun start competition for teams of four players, and it is hoped that 30 teams, each paying £250, will take part The entry fee will include light refreshments before the start and a two-course meal at the conclusion, when the prizegiving will also take place.

Golf and lifestyle fashions business Urban 18, based in Old Town, are organising the tournament and will announce details of a regional Junior Golfer of the Year during the dinner.

The tournament will be followed by a fashion show, a raffle and an auction for the Wooden Spoon RFU charity, which aids disadvantaged youngsters in Wiltshire.

Partners of those playing during the day are invited to attend the fashion show, free of charge.

Dan John, managing director of Urban 18, is excited about the prospect of the event and all it has to offer.

“It promises to be a great day,” he told the Advertiser.

“Wrag Barn is a superb location and we hope we can build on this first Urban 18 tournament to become one of the top annual events of its kind in the south west.”
