SWINDON’S David Howell continued his return to form yesterday, carding another two under par round at the Irish Open in Kilarney.
Starting the day at minus two, the Broome Manor professional made a lightning start with two consecutive birdies to go four under overall.
However, bogeys followed on the par-four fourth and par-three sixth as Howell slipped back to where he started the day.
Howell parred his way into the turn as he finished his opening nine with a level-par 35.
And consistency was the key in Howell’s back nine as he hit five straight pars before birdies at 15 and 17 saw him go two-under par.
A par at 18 left Howell four under overall, five off clubhouse leader Jeev Milkha Singh.
