Somerset seamer Craig Overton has been called up to replace the injured Liam Plunkett for England’s one-day international series against New Zealand.
Plunkett was ruled out of Sunday’s Twenty20 fixture in Hamilton as well as the five subsequent ODIs by the England and Wales Cricket Board on Friday due to a recurring hamstring strain.
The 23-year-old Overton, who made his Test debut against Australia in December, joins all-rounder Ben Stokes in the squad.
Stokes has not played for England since September but following an appearance in court on a charge of affray, which he denies, is available to make his England return against the Black Caps in Hamilton on February 25.
