RUGBY: Supermarine completed their preparations for the new season with a 63-0 thrashing of traditional rivals Gosford All Blacks.

Marine got off to a bad start losing new fly-half Mark Wells with a serious shoulder injury after just a minute.

A quick re-shuffle saw Jim Hodgson move to that position and Jamie Titcombe go from openside flanker to scrum-half with the returning Rob Pinchin, who went on to have an absolutely superb game.

Both sides concentrated on a running game mixing driving runs through the forwards with good handling moves through the backs.

Supermarine ended the first half with five tries and two conversions giving them a 29-0 half-time lead.

As the second half developed, the Supermarine forwards exerted increasing pressure, causing further gaps to appear in the Gosford defence.

Marine ran in a further six tries with two conversions.

Try scorers were Ian McMurray (2), Richard Dodd (2), Titcombe, Nick Moulden, Hodgson, Marv Woodhouse, Shaun Higgins (2) and Gareth Hollis. Conversions were added by Hodgson (2), Moulden and Woodhouse.

Pinchin, Barry Christian, Jim Ainscough and Chris Knight also produced excellent performances.
