ROBINS roared back to the top of the Elite League as they thrashed a woefully weak Belle Vue Aces side by 44 points at Blunsdon.

Swindon clocked up their biggest win of the season and came close to hitting the magical 70 point barrier.

This was a total annihilation as the visitors failed to produced a single race winner and conceded nine 5-1 maximums in 15 heats.

Apart from England international veteran Joe Screen, who scored 10 points, the Manchester side offered very little and were on the rack from as early as race four as Swindon went 19-5 up with their third 5-1 maximum of the night.

In sharp contrast all of the Robins riders shared in a bonanza pay day.

Skipper Leigh Adams led by example with a 12 point paid maximum and did not ride in heat 15.

Sebastian Ulamek continued to impress with a five-ride 15 point paid maximum but he was upstaged by Lee Richardson.

Suffering badly last week with food poisioning the England international roared back to form with a faultless 15 point maximum.

Tomasz Chrzanowski weighed in with a healthy paid 10 points as did Mads Korneliussen while Charlie Gjedde pulled out through illness after three rides but had still scored 6+1.

The pleasing aspect was to see reserve Andy Moore mixing it after a spell on the sidelines through injury.

He recorded two race wins in his paid eight points and was rewarded with the Rider of the Night trophy.

Swindon powered ahead from the start and were never in danger of being upstaged by the famous Aces.

Without world champion Jason Crump and Danish international Kenneth Bjerre the Aces appear to be in for a season of struggle and a fight to avoid the wooden spoon.
