Swindon Speedway has announced that season ticket holders at Oxford will have those tickets honoured for domestic fixtures at Blunsdon for the remainder of this season.

The Cheetahs' season ticket holders will have the same rights as those who have Swindon season tickets, in as much as they will be valid for all domestic fixtures, with the exception of the play-offs and the Knockout Cup final.

Robins follow the lead of both Coventry and Lakeside, who launched similar initiatives after the Cheetahs' Elite League demise last month.

Commercial manager Paul Oughton said: "It is a kind gesture by the management on behalf of the Oxford supporters who have been let down following the collapse of their club.

"We hope their fans will enjoy watching the action at the Abbey and we very much look forward to renewing our on-track battles with the Cheetahs in the seasons to come.' Meanwhile, Robins have made further adjustments to their fixture list.

The Elite League B fixture at Peterborough on July 2 has now been altered to the second leg of the Knockout Cup quarter-final.

Swindon put one foot in the semi-finals last week when they hammered the Panthers 63-27 in the opening leg at the Abbey Stadium.

Reserved dates at Blunsdon for the play-offs have also been confirmed.

The semi-final would be held on Monday, September 17, with the two-legged Grand Final taking place the following two Mondays (September 24 and October 1).

It leaves four outstanding Robins fixtures still to be arranged, including the home and away Elite League B clashes with Ipswich Witches, plus B meetings at Peterborough and Poole.

READING pulled the plug on tonight's scheduled televised Elite League meeting with Coventry - because of takeover talks.

And the decision - which means Sky will televise Swindon's trip to Wolves instead - has angered the Coventry management with owner Avtar Sandhu and boss Colin Pratt hitting out.

They said: "It's unprofessional. We see that Greg Hancock was not coming back from the American Championships, whereas Billy Hamill will be coming back to ride for Wolverhampton on Monday. What is going on?"

Current Bulldogs owner John Postlethwaite said: "Apologies to the fans for cancelling the Coventry match at this stage.

"Negotiations to hand the club over to new owners are at a very advanced stage, which is exciting news for the future of Reading Speedway.

"We hope to be able to confirm the new owners to everyone the early part of next week."

IPSWICH have completed the loan signing of Danish star Jesper B Jensen - who will make his debut at Foxhall next Thursday.

Jensen joins as a replacement for the injured Mark Loram having left Oxford shortly before the Cowley side withdrew from the Elite League.

He said: "I had other offers, but I am looking forward to riding for Ipswich again. In fact, I can't wait to get started."

ISLE of Wight sensation Chris Holder won the world under 21 semi-final in Vojens, Denmark.

The Australian scored 14-points to edge out Poole's in-form British star Edward Kennett on 13 and axed Coventry man Morten Risager on 12.

Other qualifiers for the final are Lewis Bridger, Jurica Pavlic, Simon Gustafsson, Kevin Wolbert and Filip Sitera. Wolverhampton duo William Lawson and Kenneth Hansen missed out with six.
