SWINDON Robins' Elite League clash at Wolverhampton was called off tonight.
Heavy rain in the Midlands had left puddles on the track and, although the rain stopped and Monmore Green track staff worked tirelessly, it was unable to recover.
Match officials delayed the 7.30pm start to give extra time for track work to take place before admitting defeat shortly before 8pm.
The call-off could prove a blessing in disguise for Alun Rossiter's men, who had Lee Richardson, Mads Korneliussen, Tomasz Chrzanowski and Andrew Moore all missing through illness and injury.
