SWINDON Robins have confirmed Troy Batchelor will fulfil his guest booking for the club in tonight’s SGB Premiership trip to Belle Vue Aces.

Batchelor, who comes in for injured skipper Jason Doyle, withdrew after two rides during King’s Lynn Stars' home defeat against Poole Pirates on Thursday due to a thumb injury.

However, the Australian is having treatment on Friday morning and will line up for the Robins at the National Speedway Stadium.

Swindon boss Alun Rossiter said: “Obviously when we heard the news about Doyley we had to work not only on last night’s meeting but also 24 hours ahead on planning for tonight, so we booked Troy before he rode on Thursday.

“He had a crash last night and injured his thumb, but I’ve spoken to him this morning, he’s having treatment and he’s going to give it a go.

“We saw yesterday how tough it is with a lack of available options, riders out of the country or not available, but the boys pulled together for a great win at home, and I’d like to thank Troy for stepping in at Belle Vue.”
