JURICA Pavlic rubber-stamped his Swindon signature with a dazzling display of speedway at Blunsdon last night and then announced - ‘one day I want to conquer the world’.

The Croatian teenager was again on blistering form as basement side Wolves were left licking their wounds following a humiliating 63-29 defeat.

Pavlic is already being tipped as a future Grand Prix star, but the rider himself has set an even loftier long-term goal.

“Of course I want to be world champion. Every rider does,” said Pavlic after helping Swindon to their biggest win of the season.

“I know it will be really hard, but I will just give it my best.

“I want to be a GP racer on the biggest stage. I am in the final of qualifying this year, but maybe it is a bit too early for me.

“At the moment I have no pressure, I like the big track here at Swindon and I really like the racing in England.”

On any other night Troy Batchelor's sparkling 18-point maximum would have hogged the headlines, but this night belonged to Pavlic.

The Croat could not have picked a more perfect moment to commit his future to the club, with Robins staging their final home meeting of the 2008 season.

The spoils were shared in the opening two heats, a competitive start which gave little clue as to the carnage that would followed.

James Wright and comeback kid Seb Alden contributed a 4-2 in heat three, and from then on the Robins found their wings.

By heat seven they had already opened up a 10-point advantage, with heat wins for Batchelor, Adams and Pavlic.

And when Pavlic and Wright combined for the host’s first maximum of the night in heat eight, the writing was already on the wall for Wolves.

Trailing 40-20 after 10 heats, visiting skipper Freddie Lindgren donned the black and white helmet for a tactical ride.

He could only limp home second however, as Batchelor continued his imperious form with a tapes-to-flag victory.

Swindon rubbed salt into the wounds with four consecutive maximums to finish, the highlight coming in heat 14 when Alden and Richard Sweetman eclipsed a stunned David Howe and Nicolai Klindt.

The emphatic margin of victory was just what Swindon needed ahead of tonight’s trip to Brandon to face old foes Coventry Bees.

Team boss Alun Rossiter insists his team can pull off an upset, and take some momentum into the end-of-season play-offs.

He said: “That was an excellent win tonight and it sets us up nicely for tomorrow.

“I always end up shooting myself in the foot when I say this, but we can beat Coventry.

“We have not performed these last few weeks, but tonight all the lads were excellent.

“If we can take that confidence with us to Coventry then we can push them all the way.”
