SWINDON Town Official Supporters Club board member Tim Keen provides an update on the fan group’s plans to encourage people to attend Swindon Town Women’s game against Exeter City on Sunday, October 31.

First thing’s first - the Official Supporters Club is hosting a family fun event before Swindon Town Women’s match against Exeter City Women on Sunday, October 31.

From 12:30pm until before kick-off, we will be doing face-painting, temporary tattoos, a quiz sheet for kids, and an autumnal arts and craft activity – all completely free!

Please try and get there to support our women’s team. As it is Hallowe’en, we’re also encouraging children (and parents) to turn up in fancy dress!

A quick request from Dick Mattick – he’s writing a book all about the 1962-63 season and would like anyone with memories from that season to share these for inclusion in the book. Just contact us on social media or email on admin@stfc-osc.com and we can pass them onto Dick.

While the away performances and results have been noting short of outstanding, it’s frustrating that Swindon currently can’t buy themselves a home win.

I know this was debated on this week’s Monday Night Panel with Vic Morgan, but I think we need to stick with Ben Garner’s philosophy and the experience of his coaching staff – but we really need to turn up the volume!

It’s staggering that we’re getting over 9000 fans for a home game against lowly Rochdale, but at times during the match you wouldn’t know it.

We got a corner in the 90th minute and you could have heard a pin drop. Jonny Williams then went and scored that brilliant equalizer, and the two subsequent corners awarded were met with a cacophony of noise. Why does it take a goal to get the crowd going? We’ve got a young squad and I don’t think we should doubt the positive impact a rocking County Ground will give them.

But enough of my moaning! Finally – a job offer! As you know, we sell match-day draw tickets before each match – this is our main form of income as a supporters club, with all money going back to the club.

We need another ticket seller – we pay 10% commission on all ticket sales made and you only need to be 16 years of age or older to apply. Again, please contact us for more information.
