SWINDON Town CEO Rob Angus uses his latest exclusive Adver Sport column to give thanks for the numbers in which Town fans have supported the club in recent weeks while providing an update on turnstile and phone issues.

First off, I’d like to thank all of our supporters for their continued support as we rebuild our club and take it forwards.

Since I last wrote to you, we have seen some great results on the pitch with a great away win in the FA Cup (thanks for the amazing away support), and progress in the Papa John’s Trophy. Thanks also for all those who attended the Papa John’s Trophy game.

I do apologise for those who had to queue for too long. We did experience issues with one of our turnstiles and with people arriving later (given the 7pm kick off) we had people queueing longer.

We are working on making improvements to the turnstiles to prevent queueing, but given the legacy issues we have and the need for searching all those that enter, we really do need people to get to the ground as early as they can.

Getting to the ground early supports the club as more of you will consume food and drink in the ground and it creates a better atmosphere for the team when they are warming up.

We will continue to work on these turnstile issues including working with our ticketing access control partner to make improvements but it may take some time.

The other area we are looking to make improvements is in respect of the phone service we provide.

We know that you have been waiting for too long on the phones, but we are investing in a better service and adding more people to help manage the calls we have been receiving. Thanks for your patience and your support and please be assured improvements will come.

Finally, it was great to see that our excellent head groundsman, Marcus Cassidy, had a couple of presents this week with the arrival of new mowers and lighting systems.

These will give Marcus some of the tools he needs to keep the pitch in great condition and is another signal of the investment that Clem is putting into the club after many years of neglect.

Thanks as ever for your support and please keep supporting our team as we look to move onwards and upwards.

COYR. Rob.
