I am writing to raise my deep concern over the regulation and policies for content on Facebook. I feel that something needs to be done or investigated about this, as it cannot continue.
I and many others have reported to Facebook (through the correct channel), a page and group on Facebook called ‘Dog Fighting Just for Fun’. It contains graphic images of highly offensive material of dogs ripping each other to a bloody mess.
The owners of this group, along with other members, reply to comments by bragging they will not be stopped as they are from India.
They are rude and obnoxious. Children can easily view this on Facebook, along with vulnerable users too. It is a disgrace that every report which numerous members have sent to Facebook, it is stated that it ‘does not violate its community standards’.
This is outrageous, as Facebook have removed a photo of a mother breastfeeding, a gay couple hugging and a mastectomy photo!
I think many Facebook users have come across this sort of issue before and it needs to be spoken about. I have also reported a page of the American cheerleader called Kendall, who boasts that she hunts and kills lions and posts her photos on Facebook, while grinning alongside the dead lions.
Again Facebook did not think it needed to be removed. Something is very wrong here.
