I HAVE read with interest the many letters regarding the Regent Circus shared crossing and how it is of great concern to the blind or visually-impaired. I have never seen any problems with the crossing and use it myself regularly.
Neither have I seen any problems for the constant stream of users. It is always busy.
Regarding the visually-impaired – I fully sympathise with their predicament, but are they vocally-impaired as well?
All they have to do is politely ask someone to walk over with them.
They would not be stranded there indefinitely as it is in constant use.
I am positive that no-one would refuse to just take their arm and walk over with them.
Human kindness in Swindon, I’m sure, is alive and well. Happy crossings.
