I WAS delighted to see your report of MP Justin Tomlinson’s visit to Swindon Talking Newspaper in Friday’s paper, for I feel this is a much underrated charity.
A dear friend of mine has very poor vision and she receives the weekly memory stick and I know how much she cherishes the news sections and particularly the features and useful information that is included.
I read the Adver every day, but I must confess I sometimes listen in with her as it’s a very pleasurable way to keep up with what’s happening in the area over a cup of tea.
The work the volunteers do is outstanding and greatly appreciated, I’m sure, by all the blind and partially sighted listeners who receive it.
And best of all, the service is totally free, even down to the playing equipment.
If you have trouble with your vision get in touch with Swindon Talking News without further ado!
