I FELT I had to write and thank the Swindon Advertiser for the article asking to find an old friend published in the issue of Tuesday, August 21.

My friend Adelle Chapman in Australia was looking for me (Elizabeth Elkins nee Foster).

I worked with her at R & H Electric in the 1970s and have actually been working back there for the last five years.

Someone at work had told me the article was in the paper so I bought a copy to see for myself and was able to send off an email that day.

I am still in Swindon but have moved address at least three times since we were last in contact with each other.

I have also married again (I am now Elizabeth Watton) so she would have had an even harder job to track me down!

It used to take forever for airmail letters to arrive, so it's fantastic to be able to send emails instantly.

We have a lot of news to catch up on, it should keep us going for many more years.

It's really great to have a friend you have known for 30 years to try to track you down from halfway across the world.

So, thanks to all at the Advertiser. Keep up the good work.

L WATTON.
