Your Shout: IT seems an appropriate heading for the subject of my protest.
I strongly object to what the BBC and ITV call strong language, but at least in these cases and other media, I can switch off or not buy offensive material. Unfortunately, however, it is through the wide use of bad language in the media, that it seems to have become acceptable to use such speech at the top of one's voice in public places, especially in the street and on public transport.
At one time I would have had no hesitation in remonstrating with offenders, but in the present climate I would expect to be arrested for a breach of the peace.
I wonder if others think the same. Or am I and old fuddy-duddy who hasn't caught up with conversational English?
