I HAVE just received the Swindon Advertiser and would like to comment about mementos on graves.
I travel regularly to Swindon as both parents are buried in Whitworth Road cemetery and have always thought how lucky Swindon is to have such a quiet, beautiful place to remember their loved ones. I cannot believe how trivial the council is being over this matter - surely they have far better things to worry about.
Artificial flowers placed on graves, especially in the winter is much more feasible than fresh flowers especially if, like me, you can't be there daily.
Within limits I think other mementos should be allowed.
