I read with interest your description of Wootton Bassett’s FA Cup exit, the score line read like a mauling.
Unfortunately those of us who attended the game as neutrals saw otherwise, on a wet Wednesday evening two teams provided a rich evening’s entertainment for my £3 entrance fee.
While in the first 10 minutes the visitors started the brighter, it was Bassett who should have been a couple of goals in front before the teams changed ends.
Inept goalkeeping and lucky bounces of the ball, flattered the opposing side into the next round after the break.
