I think you should contact the people and councillors living in the area where the proposed reservoir is being sited. Thames Water have a lot of opposition to the proposed reservoir. The homes may be compulsory purchased at far below the current rate.
The area is very beautiful with lots of wildlife and lots of businesses that rely on the countryside to exist. The councillors for the area have lots of facts and figures which prove that there are several alternatives to the Thames Water reservoir.
It is only fair that the people in Swindon should hear both sides of the story. I am sure the councillors from Abingdon and surrounding areas would be willing to discuss the alternatives with people in the Swindon area. A public meeting with councillors from the Oxfordshire area, who are involved in the opposition of the reservoir, would be a good idea. The MP for the area is Ed Vaisey and I am sure he would supply the name of the councillors who are involved in the campaign.
