I AM amazed at the proposed closure of the Groundwell Park and Ride. My wife and I are both regular users of this facility, and find it both convenient and reliable. So it’s not making a profit! I'm sure there are a number of other facilities in Swindon that do not make a profit.
We have travelled in the last year on park and rides at Gloucester, Cheltenham, Oxford and Worcester. All are cheaper than Swindon and I doubt if these are closing. Why not try something to make ours more efficient.
* Run mini buses during the hours of 10am and 4pm * Run less frequent between 10am and 4pm (30mins) * Operate a limited stop system (like Worcester) * Charge a small fee to park your car Our local council’s view appears to be to anything that’s not making a profit - close it. Why not be a bit more positive, let’s try to fix the problem.
