IN response of parents ruin family life in the Adver, January 30, page 6.

It’s nice to know, we are not alone in this issue. But what can we do? I’ve spent most of my life bringing up teenagers, still am. They stress us and we stress them it seems. Do they even know what respect is? It’s only a word to them, why not turn the tables around and make them worry about us parents for a change. Bring back home economics at school, teach them how to cook, wash, clean, shop, look after kids, and relationships.

The trouble is teenagers think they have done it all but they have missed out on the sharing and caring for someone.

Biggest problem is mobiles, take them off the teenagers for a day then see how stressed they get. Make them talk and use their brains more, take them off their computers, before it’s too late. Take them out for a long walk to the top of the Ridgeway, get some fresh air into them, see the outside world for a change before they all end up brain dead.

If that fails, never give up! There’s got to be someway of teaching our teenagers a stress free life and for all of us too.

From yours a stressed out mother of a 17-year-old teenage daughter.
