I MUST be getting bored, but I felt the need to voice my comments.

I saw Wayne Rooney playing football for Manchester United the other week and he had gloves on while playing football although his lower attire was shorts.

The other day I saw a local athlete out running/training and he had shorts and a short sleeve shirt and gloves on. Can someone explain the logic to me?

In days gone by when girls wore mini-skirts it was a common fact that, when wearing such short skirts in cold weather, it contributed to excess fat being placed around the legs and thighs enabling the limbs to retain some protection, I think.

So what is the benefit of shorts, short sleeved shirt and gloves?

It would be interesting to know.
