IT is rare for me to take up pen and paper and write to the letters page but the comment from Andy Newman (SA January 25) to the effect that Michael Wills has neglected his job as MP by penning a successful novel last year, is plainly unfair.
Not only is Michael Wills an exceptional champion of Swindon but also he is always accessible to any constituent and has, over a period of time, provided unstinting help and advice to a large number of people, including myself.
Little of what Andy Newman says on any subject is intended to be taken seriously, I know, but our MP is entitled to some time for personal pursuits and does not yet have to work 24 hours a day.
It is clear that Michael Wills has a sensible life balance and retains a creative and literary ability which should be applauded.
