I READ Mr Hayward's response to my earlier letter.
He starts by referring to the noise made by these model aircraft. My understanding is that the area that is concerning him is currently used only when there is an event at the Science Museum (about half a dozen times a year). Clearly if the use of the Science Museum increases then the need to use this area will also increase. Is he also campaigning about the Science Museum expansion?
Next he refers to the carnage on the A4361. The issue here is poor road layout and maintenance and dangerous driving, not model planes.
He then goes on to suggest that these planes are a danger to low-flying aircraft. My understanding is that the C130 would not be flying below 1,000 feet and I would not expect the models to fly above that height. While there are issues to be resolved, I think that Mr Hayward needs to clarify which issues relate to the model planes, and which need to be taken up with the police or Highways Agency.
