WITH regard to your latest attempt to help Swindon Town, could I please point out that maybe it is a little early to be asking people to say "Yes to the County Ground redevelopment."

Would it not be wise to wait and see where the cricket and athletics clubs are going to be allocated space, and if they are happy with it?

Would it not be polite to let the local people have their say on the 500 proposed extra properties and examine what kind of impact the extra traffic will create?

If, as STFC would have us believe, they are at the heart of the community, then perhaps they will start to take the role seriously and give the community a chance to examine all aspects of the changes.

As for comparing the County Ground site with Reading. No matter how much Mr Devlin would have us believe that the Madejski Stadium is responsible for some kind of renaissance for the area surrounding the ground, I think he will find that that was one of the most valuable pieces of real estate on the M4 corridor. That whole area would have been developed anyway, stadium or not.

B BLIZZARD.
