IN response to the Nationwide Savings Branches closure appeal, we totally agree with the remarks made by Josie Lewis (SA, February 19).
We are extremely disappointed that Nationwide headquarters insists on the closure of the Gorse Hill and Old Town branches, despite a written personal appeal to the head office, needless to say the reply was as expected - negative.
Surely it’s only common sense to see that part of the solution would be to close one of the town centre branches and keep open either Gorse Hill or the Old Town branch.
For the head office to state that users can go to the Pipers Way headquarters branch would prove to be inaccessible and costly for most elderly investors.
Please keep up the campaign to keep the area branches open, or otherwise we may invest our accounts elsewhere.
