SWINDON Local Involvement Network (LINk) were concerned to read the article regarding homecare services (SA, Feb 16) though we noted the contingency plan was successful in this case. However, in the wake of the council cuts to its own home care service, local people need to be reassured that private contractors do provide services to an appropriate standard.
From accounts we have received so far (one of which you can see online here: http://tiny.cc/hb6kz) it appears this is not always the case.
In line with LINk’s remit to gather experience and scrutinise services we hope Adver readers will send us examples, both good and bad, so LINk can take these up with the Care Quality Commission (quality monitors of health and social care) and those in the council who are responsible for commissioning services.
