THE academic judges at the European Court of Justice have banned what they describe as “risk assessment based on gender”. This is on the basis that the practice violates EU Rules on gender equality.
This means that insurance companies will no longer be able to calculate premiums by referring to the historic record of the different risk experience between men and women.
In consequence, men will be paying more - much more - for their life insurance and women will be paying significantly more for their car insurance. We, as consumers, can also be 100 per cent certain that any possible reduction on either side will not properly compensate.
This is not just Social Engineering but the denial of hard facts masquerading as a legal judgement. Once again I call on Prime Minister Cameron and Deputy Prime Minister Clegg to have the backbone to say “No” to yet another bizarre European Court of Justice judgement.
