The first Chair of the recently formed Swindon Public Sector Forum has been announced.

Nicola Houwayek who is Head of Human Resources, Business Transformation at Swindon Borough Council will help develop the fledgling organisation over the coming months.

The Forum was formed from the highly successful Swindon Mindful Employer Network which is managed by Richmond Fellowship Wiltshire and funded by NHS Swindon.

The aims of the Forum are to support the public sector during a period of transformation and change particularly on issues relating to employee mental health and well-being.

Nicola has worked at the Swindon Borough Council for six years and is delighted by her new role with the Forum.

“There is no doubt the public sector is facing considerable challenges over the coming years and it is important that we provide support and encouragement to our people during this period of transformation," she said.

"We are confident that there are still exciting opportunities for people in the sector. I am very pleased to be able to lend my support for this worthwhile project.”

David Latham of Richmond Fellowship Wiltshire said : “Nicola is a keen advocate of positive workplace well-being initiatives which result in a healthier and more resilient workforce.”

The next meeting of the Swindon Public Sector Forum is taking place at the Civic Function Room at the Swindon Borough Council on Wednesday March 16. One of the guest speakers will be Adrian Embling of RF WorkLife. Enquiries about this event on wilts@richmondfellowship.org.uk
