I know in football you should take the good with the bad but could Town really go from playing in a playoff final at Wembley to being relegated the following season to the basement of the football league?

Another Saturday at the County Ground goes by and again we are still waiting for are first home win of the year, you can tell when its been a bad game when the most noise made during the game was when we made a substitution, it was good to finally see Simon Ferry make a first team appearance and if it wasn’t for Jonathan Obika’s tunnel vision he would have made a goal scoring return to the side.

1 win in the last 13 games, 12 weeks since a home win and 5 months since we last won 2 league games in a row, after looking at these sort of stats you can really understand why the majority of fans want Danny Wilson to leave the club but I think if the board was going to sack him they have missed there chance.

With it being so close to March you can’t realistically sack the manager, unfortunately the new boss wouldn’t have time to come in and impose his management style and make the quick impact the team needs.

When Maurice Malpas left in 2008 Danny Wilson was appointed in the December and had 6 months to save us and then we only survived with 1 game to go I know the squad is better now than it was then but if we was going to make a change it should have been after the home defeat to Yeovil, but now as fans we need to accept that it looks like Danny Wilson isn’t going anywhere this season and his future will be decided in the summer.

In this past week its been unfortunate that we have benefited from another League One club going into administration, with Plymouth now being deducted 10 points we are now out of the relegation zone for at least a week anyway and we could always pay them back by taking Rory Fallon off there wage bill and have him on loan for the rest of the season.

This Saturday we make one of the shortest away journeys of the season with a trip to Southampton, since Southampton made the drop into League One in 2009 we have played them 4 times, won everytime and haven’t even conceded a goal, but with Southampton having a solid season so far and still trying to get a place in the top 2 its going to be a very tough game and a point from this encounter would be a great result.
