After the frustration of the previous week Swindon brushed aside Accrington at the Crown Ground to get Town’s promotion push back on track.

In reaction to the 3-3 draw Paolo rightly made changes and all those players repaid his faith in them on the day.

It was great to see Aden Flint back in the starting line up after his recent injury, even though Accrington didn’t have much attacking threat himself and Alan McCormack both had solid games.

When Paolo Di Canio was appointed it was obvious we would see quite a few loans players come into the club and so far they’ve all made a good impression on the first team.

The new front pairing of Cristian Montano and Jake Jervis made an instant impact with both players taking their goals well.

After those performances Paolo will have a hard choice when he might have to drop one of the pair to make room for the returning Mehdi Kerrouche.

Also last weekend new goalkeeping loanee Wes Foderingham made his Town debut, with fans and staff at Crystal Palace seeing Wes as the clubs future number one a deal to get the keeper permanently is probably out of reach but extending his loan deal till the end of the season would be a great move by the club.

After already using 28 players this season I’m guessing Paolo will make a few changes to his starting lineup for this Saturday’s game away at Plymouth.

Liam Ridehaigh’s solid display at left back should be enough to keep his place in the starting eleven but with an injury doubt to Jonathan Smith we could see the return of Oliver Risser to central midfield alongside Simon Ferry with Paolo preferring to keep Alan McCormack at centre back with Aden Flint.

In a squad there’s normally a player who divides opinion with fans, and this season Raffaele De Vita seems to be that player.

In the past I have been critical of his performances when he played up front and in most games when he’s been in midfield but last weekend he had his best performance in a Town shirt especially his pass for Town’s first goal.

I still need a lot of convincing that he should be a regular starter in the team but as the season goes on I hope I’m proved wrong and he becomes a key player.

With Plymouth coming off the back of a morale boosting 3-2 win and the possibility of a takeover very soon for the bankrupt club i think this weekends game will be more difficult than the table suggests, but i still see Town leaving Devon with all three points at 5pm.
