A pair of Swindonians were fined £200 each after they were caught by police in a car park at the Cotswold Water Park.
Officers from Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade’s community policing team found the pair in the Clayhill car park, near Ashton Keynes, on Friday night.
The officers wrote on social media: “Two persons from the Swindon area had travelled to the remote car park at 7.30pm.
“Officers spoke with the occupants of the vehicle and quickly ascertained that they had made an unnecessary journey and were not there for a legitimate or legal purpose.”
They said the majority of people in the area were abiding by the rules.
